How does a diesel water pump work?
The working principle of the diesel water pump is: the water is filled in the pump casing before the pump starts (or there is water in the pump casing). After the start, the impeller rotates at a high speed to make the water in the impeller channel flow toward the volute. A properly functioning water pump is vital to the lifespan and performance of your engine. The water pump is called upon to create a flow of the coolant through the engine (the heat source) where it can pick up excess heat and transport it to the radiator (heat exchanger). Then, the radiator (the heat sink) transfers the heat to the air, all with the least amount of power loss from the engine.
